Jaguar and Land Rover are being sold by Ford to Tata Motors of India. Who'd have thought it?

I can see putting the name Tata behind LandRover, but a Tata Jaguar sounds like a joke.

And Tata does a lot of cooperation with the Fiat Group. Talks are already under way to share some platforms between future Jags and Lancias.

Fiat took the $2B payoff from GM and used it to turn themselves around. Now why is it that GM leadership couldn't have used that very same $2B to turn Fiat around?
