Wrong. Typical dem BS. Fact is that Nixon had a balanced budget in 1969.

The idea that Clinton balanced the budget makes me laugh. He spent money like a drunken sailor when the country had 8 good years.

National debt and balanced budget are concepts that can easily be lost in BS.

Again you posted the "Short Bill," listing the Section but not the sections were one can peruse the actual law, not just a list of subsections.

I E what is IN the following sections?

''Sec. 2701. Fair insurance coverage.

''Sec. 2702. Guaranteed availability of coverage.

''Sec. 2703. Guaranteed renewability of coverage.

''Sec. 2704. Bringing down the cost of health care coverage.

''Sec. 2706. Prohibiting discrimination against individual participants and

beneficiaries based on health status.

''Sec. 2707. Ensuring the quality of care.

''Sec. 2708. Coverage of preventive health services.

''Sec. 2709. Extension of dependent coverage.

''Sec. 2710. No lifetime or annual limits.

PART II-provision APPLICABLE TO THE GROUP M, WHAT IS Group M?

  1. What is defined in the bill as "Fair insurance coverage?

  1. What is the "beneficiaries based on health status'"

  2. What will the bill do in "Bringing down the cost of health care coverage?"

  1. How does the bill define "Extension of dependent coverage" and on and on, the people WANT to know?

Below is a part of a PA law, Title 75 the Motor Vehicle Code, where one can see that actual wording by going the section and read the law AS DEFINED, not just it sections. That is what you are posting and there is wording in the healthcare bill that gives local originations, like ACORN etc. authority in the law to do certain things. The bill is filled with the word SHALL that makes it MANDATORY

Actually it was the Republican Congress that balanced the budget, in any event, under Clinton

Name-calling again? The kids on my 1st and 2nd grade soccer team don't even do that.

Millions of people don't have health insurance in the US. That's not funny.

Really? Prove that 2.2 billion dollars are being sent off-shore. Please account for the profits of the dealers, all the cars bought (note that the 4 of the top ten cars bought with the money are Fords - made in the US), and that the companies who sell foreign-brand cars in the US are actually US companies, although foreign-owned. And, as, foreign-owned US companies, they pay US federal and state taxes.

Really? I guess by chose you mean choosing to buy food and clothes for the kids and providing them shelter. People often cannot afford health- care after losing a job, especially considering that they have to pay the full cost of health insurance, if it is available. Health insurance for a family of 4 might costs $1000 or more. A month. That's $12,000 a year. That's a lot for anyone to bear.

Bullshit. There are income limits for getting Medicaid.

Yes, I do. Insurance companies are not in business to provide good health care. They are in business to make money for their share- holders. They often make it very hard for doctors and other providers to collect the fees owed to them. In once case, a health insurance company paid for care for one new-born twin and said it didn't owe for care on the other, even though the bills were immediately sent in for both twins. After many follow-up calls and letters, the insurance company finally agreed that it was responsible for both twins. Then it denied payment, saying that the paperwork was not sent in in a timely manner. All of these calls, letters and other billing chores cost a lot money, both for insurers to handle the work and doctor offices to submit the forms and make the calls. Who do you think ends up paying? Yes, us.

Actually, some of the VA hospitals are known for outstanding care.

Certainly, not all care in VA hospitals is excellent. In one VA hospital, a urologist did a piss-poor job of implanting radioactive seeds for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Mike, Those are polls, not poles.

You are right, the polls say Americans are against the health care plans that the House is putting together at the direction from the Obama Administration.

It is the Hpuse plan that we don't want, there's no such thing as the Obama Plan. Obama wants the House to come up with a plan, and they did. Except they don't know what's in it because they have not read it.

Bush vetoed only 12 bills, none of which major budgetary items (although some did have to do with spending).

What country had 3,300 innocent people killed by foreign terrorists?

That was almost as many as Pearl Harbor, except Pearl Harbor involved military personnel.

We're talking innocent men, women and children. If you want to turn the other cheek, that's fine. I dont.

NO! It can't be! It's run by money grubbers who's only interest is the Bottom Line! (er, wait..that's actually true...) But they also spend some of the money for the latest technology and treatments so they can keep charging top dollar.

What these people don't understand is the government is going to go into the hole trying to provide the same service, because in part they are poor money managers, and in part because a lot of them have never run a business, and in part because the average beauraucrat just doesn't care.

Getting government involved in healthcare is just NOT a good idea, and I think it's the guy who keeps answering you that doesn't believe the Canadian doctor that treated me once in the ER asked me to pay $20 US, and then *POCKETED* it!
