the dealer says I need a new compressor at 99k miles. He said it is leaking oil and freon all over the clutch, pulley and belt - when I got home, I installed a 2 part sealer - one for metal, one for rubber and 2 cans of freon and I am having very good a/c. on a 90 degree day, it is putting out
60 degree air from the duct. I never found any oil on the belt, pulley, clutch, etc. - is this normal? I never had problems with the dealer before - they charged $90 for the inspection, and quoted me $1057 for the compressor, $285 to install. I know I can get a compressor from the junk yard fro $65 with a warrantty, but this one seems fine so far since the 2 part stop leak kit was installed by me and my friend. Then they suggested installing the timing belt and water pump for $850 now instead of waiting to 105k miles. They wouldn't give me a loaner while we waited for the parts 2-3 days either. I just $2200 is not enough business to them. Rocky- posted
