I have a 1993 Honda Accord Wagon EX that had it's transmission burned out. It can still go in reverse but cannot move forward. Also per the mechanic there is a "clunk" sound when the engine is started and he states there is a problem with the rod and that the engine needs to be rebuilt in order to fix this. He mentioned something about a piston issue.
Oh by the way, the reason why this damage occurred is because my father got stuck in the snow and tried to get out and overkilled the engine. Car was previously in good condition with 90,000mileage
My question is whether it would be worth fixing. How much would work like this cost ideally? Thanks!
