A Good Honda Forum?

Anyone know of a good Honda forum that I can join that is *easy* to navigate?

I need to get my Accord headlight issue that I posted about last week resolved.

you'd find this forum more than useful if you took the trouble to ask more than the most vague-ass questions. and didn't smart-alec the people responding.

WTF are you talking about?

There was NOTHING "vague" about my question, and I even included pictures.

And who EXACTLY was I a smartass to?

dude, it's not my job to try and educate you on social interaction. if you're serious about getting answers, and you're ignoring the ones you've gotten so far, it'll be easier for you to change your approach than for you to to change the attitude of all the others who frequent this group and could otherwise help.

What answers did I ignore?

Hell, do you even know what post I'm talking about?

Also, I've been posting to this group for at least 6 yrs, thank you very much.

at the end of the day, nothing i say matters. what matters is whether you have any answers and whether the car gets fixed. if you're not having any luck, it's not because i didn't say what you could do to change that.

You got that right. Go drink some more of your screen name, troll.

  1. don't snip without saying you're snipping.

  1. you'll never get answers if you alienate the guy that's got the accord service manual on his desk.

I'll post anyway I choose.

Ah, I have a service manual.

??? if you can't resolve it with the assistance of the service manual, this forum's not the place you need to be...

Unbelievable.

Go read the thread "95 Accord Headlight Question" and get back to me.

Sorry Ron for your exposure to such negative untrue crap. Some people don't even realize what and how they are saying something. Rest assured, you don't have to take any of it personally. He is this way with most anyone. Just wait, he will likely respond to this post too in an ugly manner. You can't change people. He is what he is. Regardless of what he says next, just ignore him.

Take it to a garage and get them to at least look at it and perhaps tell you what to do.

Everybody.

Your comment, from Oct 28th: "Bueller, Bueller, Bueller, anyone?"

If you got no replies, I'd say it's a fair guess that nobody knew the answer.

However, I do have an answer. See your original thread for that.

That's why I'm looking for a forum that has more people. Lets face it, Usenet is dieing a slow death

Someone else has to have had the same problem.

Tegger, the car has not been hit. It sits in my garage most of the time and is hardly driven. It has nothing to do with the bumper. As you can see from the pics, I can push the headlight back into place, but the spring just pushes it back out.

I have a feeling a piece of the plastic headlight housing broke in that spring area, but you have to pull the bumper just to remove the headlight housing for inspection. Nice design.

Just trying to find an answer before I go through the trouble of removing the bumper.

I'm afraid you're right. Everybody seems to migrating to Web-boards.

I have several problems with Web-boards:

1) excessive glitz and flashy graphics; 2) way too much space taken up by each message on account of #1; 3) no threading!! WHY NOT????; 4) too many rice-boys and kids whose native language consists of "texting" badly enough to be barely readable.

I'm afraid you may never find on me on a Web-board. If Usenet goes dormant, I think I'll just give up participating in this sort of thing.

There isn't any spring, but the wiring for the bulbs may be acting like a spring. Try unplugging the wiring and see if the spring action goes away.

Yes, but it looks to me like you just might have one of the bumpers that's still easy to remove. If you pull the signal lights, you'll see two bolts in each hole left by the signal lights.

Remove those four bolts, plus the screws that hold the bumper ends to the wheel well, and the whole assembly just slides off in one-piece. It's a bit heavy and hard to handle, so a helper is handy. I just sit on the ground and use my legs to hold it up. You may need to remove the underside splash shields to get at the lower of each set of two bolts.

Using a tiny, powerful flashlight, can you peer into the gap between the lamp reflector and the mount plate? If you locate the adjusting gearboxes, you may be able to follow their long screws back to the reflector. Any breakage should be obvious.

Yes there is and that's what's pushing the headlight assembly out.

Oops! Slightly different design than the one I have on hand, which has no springs.

Something's definitely broken. See if you can take a really good look at the end of the long screw that attaches to the headlamp reflector. Is it loose?

I figured it out. See that round piece of white plastic on the backside pic? That was just sitting in that hole of the bigger piece of plastic. It's broken. It's part of a plastic shaft that attaches to the backside of the spring and the set screw holds it in place. Here is a pic of the broken piece.

Now the question is, do I have to buy an entire headlight? Kinda looks that way. I'll have to call a dealership and see if that part is sold separately.
