TOTAL $6,296.00 Interesting -- the difference between the 03 we had (before a friend of my daughter's totalled it at 110k miles) My brakes (front & rear) went 75k miles and cost $$300 at the dealer for pads only. Front struts were fine even at 110k. Timing belt at 90k at $628.00. Don't recall the cost of transmission and the 4wd fluid change, but everything else seems comparable.

Paid $18,750.

They currently sell for $6K-$10K.

OK, so the direct cost of ownership over five years is about $6k and the loss of capital is about $10k, so that's $16k divided by 60 months, or about $260/month.

It's very important to him that you save more money by not washing it very often.

got hosed.

got hosed.

got hosed.

got hosed.

got gang hosed.

got hosed yet again.

got hosed.

for a fraction of that, you could have gone to evening classes and learned basic car maintenance. not so you end up doing it all yourself, but so you know when you're getting into and can ask a few pertinent questions that signal the service writer that you won't play.

Jim beam - I can tell from your post here and elsewhere that you'd drive a thousand miles to save $10. Not too many share your level of frugality to put it nicely.
