Chipped windshield DIY repair.

Do those DIY kits work OK for a small (3/8 inch) chip, with no radiating crackd?

Your insurance should pay for a professional repair with NO deductible.

True, assuming you have insurance. Better yet, wait until it breaks enough so you can get a new windshield. After about 60,000 miles, a new clear windshield is almost as good as getting a new car.

This will be the 4th windshield chpped on a 2001 Elantra, the glass replacement guys charge about $50 for a chip repair, but will replace the windshield for free through the insurance. I just wondered how good those DIY kits are, seems they are just a two part resin-epoxy type thing, maybe they look worse than the chip(LOL).

Depends on your Comprehensive deductible. Your insurance company may include the repair in the deductible. Mine does -- but the cost of full comprehensive is a factor.
