Cruise c ontrol cancel/set issue

I have a 2013 Sonata with cruise control Intermittent problems are difficult to find when that are not screwing ups, so I've not bothered with the dealer yet.

Every once in a while, the cruise control will not "set" when I push the button. It may take four to eight pushes for it to set. That occurs only once in maybe 30 or 40 uses.

At other times, the cruise will not "cancel" when I push the button. Again, it may work after a dozen pushes. That occurs maybe one out of

25 or 35 uses. The "resume" button never failed. The cruise has always knocked off with a touch of the brake pedal.

I'm thinking failing switch, but I know other factors can be involved too. Anyone run into this? Ideas?

I can see spending a lot of time with the dealer trying to make it fail and it won't until I leave the shop. 13,000 miles to go on the warranty.

Might be a known problem. I'd talk to the dealer about it just to get it on their record now that something appears to be going wrong.

I have to make an appointment for a recall anyway, so it will be bought up at that time.

There's two things I've seen more than once. Either poor contact in the switch or an intermittent open circuit in the clock spring.
