Re: Jerky Manual Accent--Ignition Misfire?

What does this mean--what are the potential problems that could be causing this and does anyone have any ideas about how much it will cost to fix? Replace the spark plugs and ignition wires. If that doesn't help, it may be a coil or computer problem, or something else. On older cars, ground leads can become corroded and lead to electrical problems, so check the grounds for the battery and engine and clean them up if necessary. mechanic says that the spark plugs, ignition wires and one rear coil are all bad. it sucks. $399! eak!

That sounds WAY high, price-wise. Plugs should run $5-$40 (depending on type) and wires $40-$50. It's hard to believe that the coil and installation would be another $300+.

And even if Hyundai America wants big bucks for a coil I'm sure you could locate one in a salvage yard for much less.
