That is NOT a Jag, it's a worthless lump!

Ron, It's a Jag with a cheap and easy to maintain drivetrain with more power, a win win situation. Call it Jag for beginners. A worthless lump, maybe. Maybe if it had a Ford 5.0 it would be all Jaguar. I didn't convert this car, I got it this way. I personal wouldn't do this to a Jag but to some the conversion is a good alternative to a very costly rebuild for the oe engine. The conversion probably keep this one on the road instead of going to the boneyard. There is a ass for every seat and this may not be your seat. Or you could buy it and convert it back to maintain the breed. No discount though!

Alan,

In Australia, it is cheaper to repair the Jaguar motor :-) As for the car, rusty ones don't sell here, as there are lots rust free ones to be had, at a very cheap price.

Here in Northeast USA a rust free British car is only a dream. Even ones advertised as a "rust free California car" usally turn out to be a bondo special most of the time. My other two British cars a '59 Sprite and a '69 Triumph GT6 required major rust repairs. New floors, inner and outer sills, lower fender sections and other smaller details. Are British cars such as MGs, Austin Healey, Triumph and Jaguar popular collecter cars in Australia?

Sure are :-) Sunday is All British display day, here in Brisbane. I'll be taking photos and posting them in alt.binaries.pictures.autos.

I have two Jaguars, a 74 XJ6 SWB and a 70 420G. The 420G I bought for $170 USD. It was a mess inside but had NO rust what so ever :-) I also have a Daimler Limousine, that came from Hong Kong. It is still in bits and very rusty...
