I have a new Jaguar S-Type 3.0 liter that did not come with the premium sound package.
I want to have a power amp installed but was told that the premium sound package (which includes a CD changer and amp) can only be installed at the factory.
I have two questions:
Question number one: Is it true that I cannot have the premium sound package installed in my car?
Question number two: I really don't need or want the CD changer but I do need a little more power, so I am planning on having our local car audio shop install a four channel 45 watt amplifier in my trunk. Are there connections in place for an amp already? Is the head unit already wired for an amp? I looked in my trunk and it appears that there are some connectors in the spare tire well on the same side that the premium sound system's amplifier and CD changer would normally be located.
If there are indeed cables ready to go, does anybody have any specificiations or schematics for me?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
