A busines aquaintence just bought the car you speak of. He said he paid $4000 off the sticker in Roanoke VA. So, I think he paid around $32k. It was Salsa red and was a 5 speed with no Nav System.

2 weeks ago, I was quoted, over the phone, 35,200 for a 3.0 Sport with the CD Changer, Premium Package and Heated Seats. No negotiating. Sticker was $39k and some change. This was in the Pittsburgh Area

So, it looks like you should expect about $4000 or more off the sticker. Check edmunds.com for the true market value (TMV) for your area. I have found them to be pretty accurate.

Unless they changed the color names, it was Phoenix Red or Carnival Red (metallic).

I'm curious as to where your acquaintance bought the X type in Roanoke VA. There is no Jaguar dealer in Roanoke. There are two "used" car businesses which deal in luxury cars, and may sell "new" cars here, but the closest Jaguar dealerships are In Greensboro NC (100 miles) and Richmond VA (200 miles). I bought '93 and '98 XJ's from Greensboro: very fine service, but not real convenient.

Respond off-line if you'd like.

Well, not sure actually. He lives in Roanoke, so I just assumed...

I guess I cant really say where he bought it.

I'm certain the color was named Salsa. The one I test drove recently was also Salsa. I like the color, but its not very Jaguarry.

How about Tysons Corners? There *is* (or was, as of a year ago) a Jaguar dealership there. I know this because a dealership car locator search found one for us there - before we bought the used one on eBay ...

Thanks for the info. Tyson's Corners is about 240 miles from here. I believe most new Jaguars in Roanoke come from Greensboro NC, about 100 miles. Two next closest dealers are Raleigh NC and Johnson City TN, both about 175 miles. Actually, there is a mega dealership under construction about a mile from my house, Jaguar/Volvo/Land Rover, as well as Mercedes and BMW. It is at least 6 months, maybe a year, away from opening.
