X Jaguar 02 V6 2,5 Engine change blowing F82 fuse?

I have had my engine changed from a 02 manual for a 21K mile 04/05 auto engine. The visual difference of the two engines is that the 04/05 engine has a black top engine cover compared to the 02 which is the same colour as the engine. Other parts exchanged include the clutch and water pump, done as a precautionary step rather than a necessity.

Problems I am experiencing which are persistent are: -

Fuse Number F82 (mini 10 amp) continuously blowing. No set pattern, replacement fuse can last 1 mile or 50 miles.

The circuit includes; -

  1. Variable power steering ? This can become heavy
  2. Alternator
  3. Manual transmission only
  4. Reverse lights
  5. Reverse light switch reverse park aid
  6. Electrochromic mirror
  7. Instrument cluster

Other anomalies include the engine running speed not smooth and the steering was heavy when first driven after the engine change, this did settle down. The mechanic who changed the engine is experiencing difficulty in rectifying the fault.

If anyone can help I would much appreciate it ?even more than the mechanic will!

Cheers SAM
