Anyone have an idea why my 80K mile 84 XJS V12 HE runs horribly until it warms up? I don't drive the car every day. When cold, it is very difficult to start and keep running... even after turning the key on long enough to allow the fuel pump to build pressure and shut off, it will crank a bit, then barely catch and gain rpm, only to quickly drop back to zero rpm despite my best pedal-pumping efforts. After a half-dozen or more similar iterations, I am able to keep it running roughly, by pedal-pumping when rpm drops, for a few minutes before it finally settles out and runs smoothly enough to drive off. Thereafter it runs fine. My mechanic (independent shop, not a dealership) has tended to blow off my complaints about this when it's been in his shop, although I haven't yet taken it in specifically for that complaint (he tends to pooh-pooh any Jag over about 10 years old)
