In a 1988 Cherokee, is the stock manifold steel or cast iron? If it is steel, can it be welded together enough to pass an emissions test?

well the exhaust manifold is not cast iron on my 1988 Cherokee 4.0 :-) AFAIK It is weldable steel. So the answer is YES! later, dave AKA vwdoc1

That's perfect, thanks guys!
I can't say for sure if it is cracked, I just want to get all my ammo ready before going into battle... As long as I can get 'er past the E-Test for now, I'll worry aobut the rest later!
