1988 Jeep Chrerokee, tire clearance.

I have a 1988 Cherokee with stock height, tires and rims. I am looking at a set of tires and rims in ebay wich are 31x10.50R15LT; I know the rims will fit but will the tires fit my vehicle w/o having to lift it? Let me know? Thanks.

I can almost promise you that you are going to get a bit of rub.. No problem though.. cut them fenders and put some 70$ ebay fender flares on and you will have more clearance (Get a lift you don't buy a jep you build it :) )

hey jojo34, if you don't want to cut your car up you might have to spend a couple of hundred of $ to get a good clearance. for example i have a 3" rancho lift with 31/10.50-15 tires and i get great clearance. but if u don't have the $ to spend on a lift utahcherokee01 gave good info also

you can always do both and get some 33s or maybe some 35s under there :)... either way you will have to do some modification to get your 31's in... If you do put in a lift make sure that you do it right.. a cheap lift is just that a cheap lift and can cause more pain than the initial cost saved you.. IE say away from Spring spacers and Axil blocks... get new leaf springs etc.. Warning once you start building your jeep you will find that it costs more than heroine and is just as adictive... If your married get your signifigant other in on the fun :)

Nope, you need a spacer lift at least.
