89 Cherokee eats fuel pumps

put in two new aftermarket fuel pumps - each lasted about a day. Checked fuel lines, gas tank, and filter -- all fine. Tried a Bosch - same thing happened. Checked everything again and installed Mopar filter. It lasted a week.

Any ideas of what I can look for next?

There is a ceramic ballast resistor out on the drivers side fender near the rad on my 88. This controls the power to the fuel pump. Maybe check it for clean connections.
