93 Zj Alarm issues, help needed

The wifeys 93 ZJ has othat $%^& factory alarm on it, which has decided to "go off" for no reason, sometimes during the day other times during the night.

I want to check the connectors for moisture, but on a quick look I was unable to locate or identify the alarm connectors. where are they?? and is there anyway to disable the factory alarm??

TIA Snow...

The alarm sensor that usually goes bad is the hood sensor. It's the only dedicated sensor in the system. The rest just uses interior lights.

They put the stupid thing right where water drains and it corrodes. It's over by the battery. Just pull the wire off and tape it so it doesn't hit the frame.

As for disabling it, no. The thing is too tightly tied into the vehicle. It communicates with the ECU and if you remove the SAM the ZJ won't start.

There's a purple wire with a yellow tracer near the driver's side kickpanel. Ground that and the alarm is disabled.

Actually I found two on mine when I installed my remote starter, but both went to the same pin on the connector.

Ah.. I sit corrected. Good call.

That's actually the 20Ga Violet wire with yellow tracer that shows up on page 109. It runs to the disarm switches in the doors.

When I put my aftermarket alarm in, I kept the stock one but attached the secondary disarm output from the Clifford to the that wire on the stock system.
