Bah.. me battery died.

That's what I get for leaving the back hatch slightly open. Although it should have had enough juice to run the inside lights just overnight. :/

Gonna have to design a shutoff circuit for that. Something in line with the fuse that has a timer and a relay. Or a voltage sensor.

Anyhoo, tried to jumper it this morning but HOO BOY it got the cables a bit hot. Battery must have been completely dead. And no, I did check and had them on the right way around. :)

First time I ever yanked jumper cables off a car. Thought for certain I fragged something. Left a nice spotweld on the jumpers.

Hour on the charger got it running again, but that's the first time I've ever had a problem jumpstarting a battery. It just wouldn't take a charge but boy was it drawing amps!

FWIW, a 6A charger is USELESS for high capacity batteries. It's my old Car/Cycle charger for 6/12V. Gonna take an hour to raise the battery

1V. At least it can't harm the battery at that rate.

I had a Seard DieFast in my old truck. Two of them, both less than a week old, crapped out. Sears said it was due to my charging system. (I already tested the system and it was fine) And had them prove it. pricks tried to charge me for testing my system, without which they wouldn't have given me a refund on the second battery. Last time I ever had auto work done at a Sears store.

Got another battery from a local auto garage and it worked for over five years without a hiccup.

I think the battery has a weak cell, but just to be sure I'll throw the ammeter on it this weekend and give it a test.

Yep. It's telling me not to leave the lights on overnight. :)

Gotta do some diags, but for right now it's taking a charge nicely. Almost up to 15V and if it makes it there then the battery is ok it's just my pension for the sterio and mostly dark driving that has slowly eaten the battery down. Might upgrade the alternator.

Yeah, just be sure to check it for a surface charge. Also seems the current battery constructions don't like to ever be overdischarged...even if they charge up they have the bad habit of going dead again within a short time.
