I just unplug the door jamb switches....... maybe that is tougher to do in some applications than others, what do I know.

On a TJ, why not just pull fuse #4?

LOL!

Most folks read their owners manuals and remove fuse #4 for running doors off like it says.

The dash control will still turn on the lights.

Why not just unplug the door switches? Takes ten seconds.

Jerry McG did pass the time by typing:

Or if your handy with electronics, install a tiny switch on the inside that disconnects the door switch. No pulling fuses, wires, etc.

Sheesh, doesn't anyone read their owner's manual any more? The TJ is already set up with a solution so the dome light doesn't illuminate when the doors are off... just remove fuse #4 as the owner's manual describes. The benefit to the factory solution is that you can still turn on the dome light with the dashlight dimmer control after fuse #4 has been pulled.

I find it amazing what people will market, let alone what consumers will buy...

You can open the glove box door and reach inside and yank Fuse #4, and do the same thing. Please send that check for $9.95 to my favorite charity.

Or, unplug the fuse. That takes even less time.

But don't forget that when you pull that fuse, your headlight on reminder no longer works either! Why they chose to make the headlight reminder be "lights on, doors open" rather than "lights on, ignition off" is a mystery that I just cannot solve..

Well, I have a Real Jeep with a steel dash board and leaf springs, so what the hell do I know?

I thought the fuse still allowed the headlight on chime to work. But, even if it doesn't work, it still won't work with the door switch jammers because they will never let the door "open" to tell the driver that the lights are on, the keys are in the ignition and the door is open.

I just look outside when I want to know if the lights are on or not. I don't need no stinkin' chime.
