That is the dumbest idea ever...don't buy gas on a single day...so we can all go out and buy it the next day. Remind me that OPEC will give a ...oh, they won't.

A one-day, or even a one-week gasout will only hurt the filling station owners, and their employees. They have no say in fuel prices, they only mark it up a fixed percentage. The only way to achieve your goal is to use less oil, on a long-term basis.

Question for all those in Ontario (Canada), Now that Dalton is running the show do you think that the Government will be watching the gas prices over the up coming long weekend? as good ole Mike Harris did in an attempt to catch the gas companies price gouging the consumer. Bet Dalton doesn't... after all him and his party are too busy thinking up ways to pay for his campaign promise's... the one he has yet to break.

What needs to happen is for everyone in the country not to work for a week.. I mean everyone.. No police no firemen, no hospitals, no refineries, no truckers.. Nobody.. The whole country would shut down and then someone will have to listen... That is the only idea that would work.. imho

Americans get way less 'vacation' time than workers in other countries. Nick

Dude....we seriously need a Jessie Ventura candidate up here!! How about Bret Hart!!

Need someone with balls and a clue!! These guys make a game of getting in on their lies and doing whatever they want anyhow. Dalton's a dick....Harris was better even though his nick-name was the axeman!

Not a problem, the tank is on 3/4 and I just finished repairing my trusty ol tenspeed for those times I just need to run to the mall or hardware store. Heck, they are just a mile or two away anyhow.

The other thing to do is take lunch to work and stop driving to lunch. Not only does that save major buckage for high calorie content stuffing but also the gas to get there.

Figure between the two I can save about $400 this year. Then blow it all on new toys for xmas. :)

If everybody for an entire week did that, MAYBE the oil companies would choke on thier own product, but I doubt it.

And, given the choice of sticking it to the oil companies and walking, or getting on with my life, I can tell you I ain't walkin' anywhere.

Sheesh Snow! That's $3.2135 per gallon if my math is right. Of course, those are American dollars, and your Canadian version is only worth about $0.75, but that still works out to California pricing of $2.41.

As others have noted, if folks in the U.S. think gas prices are high, they just need to travel some more. Not that I'm in favor of increased prices but check the prices in England or Germany.

Feel I should add something. Don't sign up for those "free gas coupons" unless you like spam and scams. Just reading the terms and conditions on one of those nearly put me off my scotch.
