Good Shocks for 2000 JGC ?????

I am trying to find a good set of shocks for the above Jeep. I tried Dousetech (spelling), but they sent me the wrong set for my Jeep, and will not respond to my dealer's efforts to replace them.

I have heard of Gabriel Ultra shocks. Has anyone used these on a Grand Cherokee?

I don't care for a "hard" ride, and only occasionally go off road. However, I do drive on bumpy mountain roads. I prefer a fairly smooth ride rather than the harder ride and feel.

At one time, I thought I read that all gas-charged shocks create a fairly hard ride, but I am not sure that is true.

Another choice I suppose is Monroe, but I would really like to get recommendations before I just have a set of any shock brand installed on this Jeep.

I will appreciate any good input !!!

I'm rather happy with the Edelbrock IAS shocks, they are nice and firm on the highway and react well to being abused off-road. Which in the case of Oklahoma would be considered any of the local roads.

They don't patch the potholes, they wait for little imports to fall in then pave over them.

Monroe's jeep/truck division is Rancho. They have self adjusting and cab-adjustable shocks. I have the Rancho 9000RSX adjustables which I happen to like, but then I prefer a rather stiff ride. A friend has a GC with the Edelbrock IAS shocks which are much more to the liking of most drivers. Not that stiff, but extremely good control.

The Doetsch Tech 3000 is a good shock. You could probably order them online from another place. Also check out OME (Old Man Emu) to see if they make a shock for your vehicle. They are a soft riding nitro gas charged shock. Nitro gas charged shocks are often a bit stiffer, but not always. Another good choice for a soft ride would be the Skyjacker Hydro.
