Headlight conversion kits

Hi all, Getting a little tired of the weak headlights in my 01 Cherokee sport, so I want to replace the headlights with one of the many conversion kits that are out there. In my old YJ i had the hella vision kit, and liked it. seem to throw a good amount of light with a nice pattern that made it easy to see the road as well as road signs etc. Am loking at the Hella kit, IPF makes a kit and I am really liking the looks of the diamond cut IPCW kit. Anyone Got any of these on your YJ or XJ and feel on eway or the other. Also, If i decide to use bulbs over 55/65 i need to upgrade the wiring, right? Any help and info is much appreciated. Jason

I have H-4s in all my rigs. I just put a set of NOS Cibies with 55/100 bulbs in my newest old car.

The better light pattern makes brighter bulbs unnecessary for normal city driving, but here in the mountains a 100 watt high beam helps keep me eating beef instead of venison. I haven't tried the diamond cut, but it looks too trendy to be as good as the real deal to me. Same with the funny colors, and the companies claiming a lower watt bulb performs the same as a higher watt bulb. A better comparison would be candella or lumens, as Watts is more of a measurement of heat. 130 watt bulbs produce almost exactly the same Candella as 100s, but use more power and produce more heat. Wiring should be upgraded if load is increased, unless it's an old Benz..

I've heard good things about the IPF H4's. Check out the specs on

, but don't try to buy from them.

From all the write ups that I have read, I am gonna give the IPF's a shot. Anyone know where I can get the lenses and the IPF upgraded wiring kit together? I noticed that your website had both Carl, but you don't seem to think I should buy from them. Thanks so much Jason

They have a great selection of stuff at RRO. I order a set of shackles and IPF headlights from them a while back. The shackles were of poor quality, (I later found out that a 'few' slipped past Q.C). They neglected to tell me the IPF's were on 'significant' backorder with a 'significant' delay. Repeated 'promises' to return phone calls were not followed through on.

I did recieve a proper set of grease nipples for the shackles (one of the problems was someone bored the holes out too big and the grease nipples didn't stay in the shackle), but I still can't say much for thier customer service.

I have bought from

with excellent results. Fast shipping, and you won't break the bank there. Chris Collyard is a great guy to deal with, great on customer service. They are really the only place I buy from now. Call him and tell him Carl in Spokane, WA sent you.

And no, I am not affiiated with ORTS, and I don't get anything for that plug.
