Help w/check engine light. How to 'tap-out' code on 95 Cherokee straight six

Hello,

I get a 'check engine light' after ~ 30 minutes of driving. It will reset if I remove the battery cable. Once reset, it comes on ~ 30 minutes.

Is there a way to 'tap-out' which code is in error? I remember on an old '85 El Camino I was able to short two leads on the test jack and count the blinks.

Any ideas? Please help! Thanks.

Best regards,

RG
