Maintenance question

I'm kind of new the jeep thing so if someone could help me out I would be grateful. Went to Autozone today to get some basic maintenance items. The guy there told me that according to his computer, I don't replace PCV or fuel filter on my Wrangler (4.0). Is this correct? Thanks.

You don't have either one.

The filter is part of the fuel pump inside the tank and you have a CCV pipe that sucks all the time instead of a PCV valve.

It depends on the year I bet, I have a '93 YJ 4.0L and I have a fuel filter on the drivers side frame rail behind the rear wheel.

And yeah, no PCV. But, make sure all the plastic lines that connect the thing that LOOKS like a PCV valve on the valve cover to the air box are clear and not accumulating crud. This is a fairly common problem that ends up with air filters with oily dirt blowback in the center.

Ahh, forgot about that, our 88 Cherokee also has one there and I did need to change it. It rusted out... LOL!

Mark & Lynn did pass the time by typing:

Knowing the year would help a lot. :)

Newer Jeeps put the filter in the fuel tank. The 4.0 also doesn't have a PCV valve, but you do need to clean the tubes every now and then. You will know if you start seeing oil on the air filter.

Oops. Sorry about that. It is a 1998. Thanks for all the replies so far.
