MAT sensor

89 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 and all the bells and whistles

I'm picking up new O2 and Map sensors and figured I might as well replace the MAT also.

Ok, O'Reilly's doesn't list one even after using ever acronym and word combo I can think of.

So anyone know where I can get one other than the local jeep dealer?

BTW, we have AutoZone, O'Reillys, NAPA, I think an A-1 auto parts stores.

HA-A-A-A-A-ALP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Budd (now so broke he couldn't put gas in it if it were 29 cents/gal.)

I think those were common across most all the 4.0 engines.

Either way, I'd test it first. Those usualy don't go bad

From the 88FSM MAT Sensor

1) Disconnect wiring from MAT sensor. Using high input impedance digital volt-ohmmeter (DVOM), check resistance of sensor. Resistance should be less than 1000 ohms when engine is warm. Replace sensor if it does not fall within range shown in TEMPERATURE-TO-RESISTANCE VALUES table.

TEMPERATURE-TO-RESISTANCE VALUES (CTS & MAT SENSOR) TABLE F . C . Ohms (Approximate)
