Transmission cooler

91 YJ with TF999 auto. Want to put a cooler on it. Which side of the radiator is the "in" side for the transmision lines. Does the fluid flow through the radiator then the cooler?

If memory serves, the output line comes from the front connection on the TF999 tranny. Not sure where it goes into the rad or if having the cooler before or after is better. :/

If you are using both the factory cooler in the radiator and an auxiliary cooler, then you want the outlet from the trans to to go the radiator first, then to the auxiliary cooler and back to the trans.

Then don't pull a trailer through the mountains of California, in the summer. God Bless America, Bill O|||||||O mailto: snipped-for-privacy@billhughes.com

Which side to put the cooler will depend on where you live. Here in the North where winter temperatures range down to -25F having it after the radiator will over cool the trans fluid. In the South after is better.
