Code Thrown- P0100-MAF/VAF Circuit Malfunction

Anyone have a diagram they can show me of this? Is it or can it be an easy possible fix? I am pretty efficent in auto repair.. I am posting for a friend so I don't have a Kia Chiltons or Hanes Manual. Any help or info would be great, thanks!

P0100 is a generic OBD-II failure code related to the mass airflow sensor. Without knowing the exact vehicle you are working on I can't give you any further testing information.

I would inspect the wiring and make sure none of the wires at the connector plug are damaged. If all appears okay it's quite possible the MAF has failed and needs to be replaced.

1995 sephia has a 5 wire connector at the mass airflow sensor. It is prone to a problem with a poor ground connection. On my car(97 sephia..same motor) I unplugged the connector and removed the wires one at a time and soldered the crimps. There is a plastic insert you can remove from the inside of the connector and then you can depress the metal tabs to remove the wires one at a time. After removing a wire slide the rubber grommet up the wire as far as possible, otherwise it will probably be damaged by the heat of the soldering iron.

Depending on the mileage it could also be a bad MAF sensor. I've been told they only last approximately 100k.
