Kia Carens rear suspension

I bought a Carens CRDi SE 1991cc auto last November and two months ago noticed the rear suspension was lower than normal, comparing against new Carens it was over 40mm lower, the offside was the worst but now both sides are over 40mm lower. I had a look at a 2month old Carens and found the offside nearly 15mm lower than the nearside.

I contacted the garage and they said Kia said it was OK, after writing to Kia they have not replied.

The car used to look special being tall at the rear, now it looks like a normal estate car.

Is there a problem, or is it normal for shockers/coil springs to reduce over 40mm. The car has only done 12000miles.

My 2002 Carens (old design) doesn't show anything like that, nor I ever noticed it on other Cares, which I look at with curiosity each time I see one. Strange how such a good car like the Carens, with it's very good price, is so little popular here in Italy. Mine has done now about

38.000 km (23.000 miles) and never needed any service except for scheduled maitenance every 15.000 km.

Dave, which country are you from, where both metric (mm) and medioeval (miles) units -sorry, just kidding- are used? Franz Energia Nucleare ??? No, Grappa !!!

Hi Franz I am in the UK.

Since your Carens shows no problems it seems that they may have had a bad batch of shockers in this last year. What I find annoying is that Kia Customer services are not replying to my letters, after spending so much money last november I was hoping for a better service.

Cheers

Dave
