Defender Heated Screen

The new 90has got a heated front screen. It got steamed up on the way to work this morning, and a, it took ages to start to clear, and it only did it in a few widths of the screen. I assume that its bolloxed, but is there any way of fixing them?

Its also got a bit of a crack in it... Does autoglass replace a heated on with another heated one? or is it insurance dependant.

If it's like the heated screen on the P38 and some strips of the element don't work it's fecked. My P38 had a big horizontal crack across the bottom of the heated screen. I got it replaced with a new heated screen by Autoglass, covered under the insurance. The fitter buggered the trim across the top of the screen and it leaked in the rain, then he cracked the new glass trying to hammer the trim flat with his fist! Another new screen and new trim fitted and been ok since then apart from the connectors for the heating elements were not pushed fully home. Next winter half the screen did not clear and I had to sort it out.

Mark Solesbury uttered summat worrerz funny about:

I had a hell of a job to get a heated replacemtent window for our last RRC. Then it was worse once fitted than the chipped one that came out, at which point I bought a can of deicer.

I had the heated windscreen replaced on my old range rover. autoglass did it, insurance paid and I coughed up the =A360 excess. No trouble after that.
