Disco 1 Repair Panels

Hello All,

To keep my Defender company I have just bought a 1995 Discover 1, 4 door.

It is a MOT failure, primarily through bodywork. I have had search on the net, with some success, but I am hoping that the learned people of this list will be able to suggest sources of some of the panels (or confirm they don't exist, in which case, I'm metal bashing!)

I need a new rear floor (found those on the net), the rear of the rear wheel arch from the bottom up about to a height of about 12" and what I would call (probably incorrectly) part of the footwells that are in effect the rear of the front wheel arches (to the RHS of the accelerator, if you can visualise that), again from the bottom of the body to a height of about 12" (they are ribbed if that helps!) In both cases (front and rear) both the offside and near side are required. These latter 4 panels I haven't found on the net.

If I get a chance I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

All advice and pointers gratefully received.

Cheers

Peter

I went through Ebay last night and most of the "usual" suspects for spares. It looks like this Disco has decided to rot in places where repair panels aren't available.

Metal bashing time!

There may be some here, too - but their site isn't operational at the moment:

... an additional thought ... it's possible that panels suitable for a RRC of similar vintage may fit. At least, they may be modifiable at lesser effort than metal bashing from scratch.

Strictly speaking it's a Disco 2 of Series I

Maybe some piccys will help!

This is a 1990 Classic repaired 5 years or so back, so maybe in similar condition.

Hope it doesn't put you off too much.

Bottoms of the C pillar needed replacement. Rear wheel arches should have been done for a pucka job. Check the boot floor to.

Inner front arches aren't cheap genuine.

I had to fab the bottom A pillar repair pannel from a Early classic as none seemed available at the time. They are different profiles.

Simples with a plasma cutter, now sold as couldn't justify it sat in the garage "just in case".
