S'cuse me if I'm confused, but in order to transfer a vanity plate, does it not need to be currently on a taxed vehicle?

Not to do with Disco, but I spotted a Porche Turbo with W1 TCH on it yesterday.

Nice new car. The plate was in italics and 'closed' i.e. W1TCH. And to my horror the lady driver was just that!!! :-)

BMW owned by a pub in North Ferriby, Humberside: SAT1N BMW Alpina seen on motorway: M3 MAD Best of all - Van owned by bed shop in Haverfordwest: D1VAN

Also seen in Cardiff, a black P38A driven by Colin Charvis, Welsh Rugby player, C11ARV, with a black fastener coincidentally placed between the 11

Sad, I know.

Looked in my rearview mirror and saw MAG1C (back to front), Roller being driven by P*ul D*niels. Was walking the dog when a gigantic Merc passed with G1MME on the number plate.

Cheers,

Dave

Reminds me of ORG 45M I saw for sale.

But it's hard to beat 1PO on a Ferrari on the M40. Wonder how he paid for that then...

though of course PEN 15 famously was...

I assume they'd learned the lesson by the time PEN 1 S came around...

meant to add that I suspect some shenanigans at the Truro (IIRC) licensing office at the time that PEN 15 was issued... I can't believe that no-one noticed, even back then.

Haven't seen either of those, but assume they'd be issued somewhere in Scotland. Couldn't tell you where in Scotland, though.

I've seen both of those CSW regs on their appropriate vehicles, but only in magazine pictures, and I suspect someone was using "artistic licence" in both examples alongside Photoshop!

Various CSK special edition Range Rovers have CSK in the plates.

speaking of CSKs...

Sister's partner has a CSK-style chrome bumper on his RR, which apparently is only available from Land Rover by quoting a CSK chassis number... we were speculating if they keep count of how many bumpers CSK owners get through...

One of the reg companies was advertising a pair of registrations last year sometime -

WA51 GUD and YE51 WAS

Obviuously suited to a husband and wife combination, but which way round?

My wife was talking enviously about the guy at her flying club with YE51 FLY so I bought her LM51 FLY for Christmas (her initials being LMS). Now all we need is a vehicle new enough to put it on...

Not according to the guys at work who were discussing this very point some time ago. Have you got a middle initial, Austin? You'll be able to buy AX54 SEX (assuming your middle initial, implausibly, is X) in a year or so! :-)
