Evidence:- Global warming not linked to 4x4's

Having been walking to school to collect the kids for the last few weeks, I've just driven to get the kids in the 4x4 because for the last 2 days it's been freezing on the playground waiting for them to come out.

I was hoping the use of the 4x4 would warm things up but alas not. So I took a peek at the met centre pages.

"In contrast to the recent mild weather, temperatures will fall over the weekend, with snow and widespread frosts becoming the main focus of concern. There is a risk of disruption over eastern and northern parts of the UK." Is the world going mad?

So clear definitave evidence that 4x4's aren't making the world any warmer... unless your sat in it rather than shivvering yer balls off.

Now then.. to make up for all the carbon used in typing and sending this I'm going to do my bit by holding my breath whilst walking downstairs to boil a full kettle to pour 1 cup of tea.

Tongue firmly in cheek!

Oh good, I'll be able to see if the fixes I've done recently will make the pinz run better in the cold! The landy of course doesn't give a toss, it starts on the first chug no matter how cold it's been outside, but then it's not 33 years old.

As a policeman I'd have thought you'd have known how mad the world is for a long time ;-)

Also, just to compensate even more, hold a few farts in today. We should have a national "no farting" day, imagine how many tonnes of methane we'd stop from gushing into the atmosphere for that day. I feel a protest march coming on, or it could just be a bad case of wind.

Ian Rawlings uttered summat worrerz funny about:

I considered guffing next to a gas fire to see if the methane would be less harmful once burned... but fortunately got sidetracked.

Then as an aside having read the above and seen that Sky claim in there Green Britain week that a cow farts 200 litres of Methane a day on average, maybe they should prescribe some immodium to the heards. Cow patts could be used instantly as breeze blocks then..... certainly make you think!

Well, I've done my bit as well. I was considering a Porsche Carrera c4, but smartened up and got a c2 instead. Don't let anyone say I don't care about the environment !

I thought about Guy Fawkesing the Houses of Parliament, but then I thought about all the cute fluffily bunnilies that would perish due to the soot clogging their ickle noses, so I didn't do it. Does anyone tell me what a nice man I am as a result, eh? eh?

On or around Wed, 17 Jan 2007 15:56:34 -0000, "Dr_D" enlightened us thusly:

you need to eat more beans. Methane is a very effective greenhouse gas, better than CO2. By eating more beans, you can then fart more on your way to school (on foot - farting more in the confined space of the 4x4 will be unpopular), this will make up for the difference in CO2 output when you and the kids walk, as opposed to driving the 4x4, and ensure more effective global warming.

careful, you'll bite yer tongue.

interestingly, looking at the year planner I just took down the other day for 2006, the 3 days of school lost to snow last year round by 'ere were the first 3 (school) days of March.
