Common sense tells me that it should read 'Launch'

It's mildly dyslexic for Launch , I've learned to live with it though :-)

So does it have any history or just share a registration suffix with those that do have a history?

the first lot were press test vehicles and pre-launch vehicles and the like. I've no doubt there's a list somewhere. and a lauch is a typo.

I don't know, I remember reading in one of the magazines once that the Disco G-WAC's were press release vehicles registeered by LR at Solihull. It's date would suggest it's one of these, rather than a privately registered WAC which would have probably been H-WAC.

Okay, I have dug out all the original documentation - including service history to 125k.The 1000 mile service was done at the Landrover Works, Solihull in Jan 90, suggesting Landrover still owned it hence genuine press release G-WAC. I have the original Landrover Owners Handbook in good condition - even the radio handbook.

The G-WAC's were the press vehicles for the launch - there's endless articles in the mags.

I wasn't sure if they all were. Mind, dunno whether it's worth as much without the reg. no. - how come it was re-registered with an Irish number?

Don't know, but the DBZ 7785 plates are worth at least £200. I guess someone transferred them onto the vehicle as private plates at some time. Irish plates are popular partly due to them hiding the age of a vehicle. I may xfer them onto my new vehicle if G-WAC doesn't sell, just so happens my initials are DB :-)

They're actually Northern Irish plates, Southern Irish plates are entirely different these days.

well, yes. Southern Irish plates would be much better - they don't bother pursuing the speeding tickets and suchlike.
