Glass polish

The rear window wiper arm was broke, went & got a new one for £16 (cheap for LR) however, as it was bent at a funny angle, the wip[er head has scuffed the window. Anyone know of summat that can get rid of the arc?

do a glass polishing kit of=20head/pad/compounds for polishing scratches and small chips out of glass. They do DIY chip repair kits too. Don't know how they relate price wise though.

They do. I bought one in an attempt to remove (some) of the myriad fine scratches in my RR windscreen. It didn't seem to make the slightest difference. It might work on a distinct scratch like the one described by the OP.

You might try jewellers' rouge. It's supposed to work, but like Richard, I've had very little success. T'other possibility is the polishing kits sold in bike shops for chrome etc. They have sticks of polishing paste and a selection of different mops for a power drill. They work brilliantly on chrome and stainless steel...

Jewellers rouge, or Ceri-rouge is THE material for optical polishing, but its messy and a bugger to apply. With rouge, less is more, and too much rouge will often STOP polishing the material.

ciggie ash and water to make a fine paste can make a very smelly, but very fine abrasive polish too.
