Halfrauds

I know many of us do not use Halfrauds because of the muppet staff, high price etc, but I did find a somewhat useful offer today for filters and the such like for SWMBO's car which needed a full engine service.

The current offer in my local store is 3 for 2 on halfords oil, air, fuel filters, ht leads, NGK spark plugs, and some other items which I cannot remember. Buy the most expensive 2 and you get the third cheaper item free. Managed to save a few quid over my usual local auto factor, so bought several sets.

Or like me always manage to buy a set with a dead one in... in which case nine is cool for a V8..... then again I could always put the dead one in the dead cylinder....h'mmmm.

I havn't forgotten going to Vauxhall Motors main dealer a few years back to obtain spark plugs (for a 3.0 24v Senator - used 10mm dual gap plugs which weren't readily available) They were sold in boxes of 10, regardless of wether you have 4 or 6 cylinders under the bonnet.

I remember the first time I asked for a set of plug leads for a V8 at my local auto factors and got 4 plug leads and one coil lead. Spotty youth didn't seem to understand the clue was V8, even after it was explained to him....
