Head Gasket for 2.6 litre 6 cylinder

Hi there.

Today is the big day. The head is coming off so i can inspect the valves and see what needs to be done. i just bought a "regrind kit" which comes with all the gaskets that need to be replaced during such a procedure. my question relates to the head gasket which came in the kit. The shop i bought it from offers two different head gaskets, a steel one and a composite one. The kit comes with the steel one which seperatley is worth $15 while the composite one is worth $70 on its own.

The steel one i got is basically a thin sheet of steel (probably a quarter of a millimetre thick). the gasket that is on the vehicle looks more like the composite one which has that thin steel layer on the outside with a cardboardy layer in the middle, then the thicker steel inserts around the cylinders. The one that i got with the kit does not make me feel very comfortable as it is so thin which would leave bugger all room for the head and block to expand differently etc. Is it worth forking out the extra dough for the composite one or should i just throw it on and forget about it??

/Thanks.

Sam.
