Impressive stuff: Mogs at play

Here you go, an hour-long video of mogs at play!

The link takes you to a page of videos, the best one so far is the NWMF2K3 one, 134 megs but a worthy download. I'm particularly impressed with the haflinger which is disappearing into ruts bigger than it and chugging out the other side.. The mogs are seriously impressive though, you can see the chassis and body flexing sometimes, a nice design.

I went on a trip round Orfordness a few years ago.. Our taxi was a newish Mog towing a hydralically powered trailer which we sat in. To prove how powerful the Mog was, driver put the Mog in 'N' and just used the hyd pump to power the trailer and push us along.....'twas very impressive. Nearly bought one a few years back. Tree surgeon was having money problems and wanted some cash sharpish, offered his Mog to me for £4000. I ummmed and R'd for days but in the end thought what possible use would that be....so splashed the cash on a RRC instead (not £4000!). Kinda wish i had bought the Mog now!.

Mogs are cheap, much cheaper than pinzes but they're so big! Didn't fancy laning in a mog so didn't bother in the end, but am still very tempted myself. The new ones are too fat for my liking, although the older ones tend to only do about 40MPH on the road.. They're apparently a pig to drive on the road and not terrifically practical even for going down the local dump with rubble etc. The load bed is a lot higher up in the air for a start, the pinz loadbed is actually lower than my 110, but both of those are still higher than would be ideal for lugging stuff about so a mog is even worse.

Blimey, just seen the NWMF2k4trailride one, 45 minutes or so of rock-crawling, very impressive! The green SWB with the fat tyres and the TRCTR registration plate is the one I want..
