P38 2.5DSE Starting Problem

My 1998 2.5DSE has decided not to start. Was running & starting OK.

Initially suspected glow plug problems but have checked them and they are fine. However undoing a high pressure pipe from a diesel injector and cranking the engine does not show any fuel. Releasing the fuel pipe from the engine side of the fuel filter and turning on the ignition produces a healthy flow so it seems to be a problem with the injection pump or associated electronics. Anybody got any ideas?

Not sure if its connected at all but when I was trying to start the vehicle during a prolonged cranking a new message appeared indicating an Airbag Fault, or is this likely to be another unrelated little gem for me to get sorted / erroneous message?

Cheers

miscellaneous fault codes are almost certainly low battery voltage, from what I hear on the P38s.

I reckon you've got a problem with the fuel cut-off. depending on the actual system, it might be a solenoid on the pump or might be an immobiliser fault. If you can identify a stop solenoid on the pump, see if it gets 12V supply when cranking. If not, then the supply is not right - which could be immobiliser if it has one or a wiring fault. If there's 12V there then the stop solenoid is at fault.

That's right, I just had ABS fault and Gearbox fault along with the windows reset thingy because of a low battery, all seems fine now but worried me to death. It sounded as though it was going to turn over fine, not slow or anything, just kind of pulsing turn stop turn stop.
