P38 - got her!

Picked up the RR and now back in France! - she's a beauty! really clean and tidy. Forgot just how big they were, after driving around in a Clio for a few months it feels enormous!

Bloke didn't do it justice in his description, has a full LR service history, every 6k, and box full of receipts from the previous owner - who has really looked after her - done all the maintenance work that has been asked - in last 6k it has had full (big) LR service (£500 worth) in last 10k, new exhaust, new rear brake calipers, all new belts, new battery last week, plus all sorts of minor things have been seen to at services and not just been left - and better still, she has an almost brand new set of General Grabber AT2's all terrain tyres all round, which he never mentioned!

It goes like stink - I think it's been chipped because my old one didn't go like that and it was manual, plus until I hit the hills around Bristol I was averaging 30mpg at 65/70mph - tho it dropped to 27 on average on overall journey after blasting through France at 80 laoded up. I don't reckon that is too bad - my old P38 struggled to get to 25 on a good day, more like 22/23, despite being a manual 'box.

Couple of little niggles, wiper arm broken on the headlamp wash and ABS/TC lights coming on about 10% of the time (which he told me about already) Looking through the history the dealer found an error on the OSF ABS sensor and cleaned it up about 15k ago, so maybe just needs doing again, or replacing - but hey, wouldn't be a LR if I didn't have to do some work on it!! Part of the fun, right?!

Already put her to work, this morning hauling furniture from a dealer fair on the way home, and this afternoon trundling around the greenlanes near here making good use of those AT2's!
