Ah... 'Instant Internet'... (yeuk...)

Another option would be to use any old 'puter with 2 NICs and Linux LRP or similar as the gateway. The simplest gateway strategy is to add IP ranges to ipchains, but there are lots and lots of other GPL utils around now which give incredible control over access and security.

Too simple ;-) Won't they spot the timer plug and just bypass it within a couple of nanoseconds? Most teenagers I know, even a heavy-duty software solution wouldn't delay them long.
