Recommendations for TD300 Disco Brake Pads please

I have a 96 Disco which has rather poor brakes and I need to change the pads soon - I noticed that the current ones are Motoquip which could explain the problem. I can remember fitting some Motoquip pads on my mother's Metro which could barely stop it.

I know that pads can make a big difference, so I'd be grateful to know of any one else's experiences/recommendations please.

Cheers Tony

P.S. I had a BMW to which I fitted ATE pads and they were excellent - do ATE make pads for Landrover?

EBC green are good if you're likely to overheat them. I found them a tad slow to react when cold and wet, not dangerous or anything, just a little bit wooden feeling the first time you used the brakes on a cold winter day. In general they were good and especially on that vehicle at the time I had some long, slow descent to do which wasn't suitable to use engine braking alone, and that used to get the pads hot. The EBCs were much better in that case.

Meanwhile, I've also found Ferodo good.

The other thing to do is make sure that the calipers and discs are in good nick. The caliper pistons can easily get sticky.
