On or around Sat, 4 Oct 2003 07:47:14 +0000 (UTC), "BELL AUTO SERVICES" enlightened us thusly:

do you pay duty on it?

...and yes, you are polluting the atmosphere, pretty much the same as using fossil fuel... The only thing you're not doing is adding carbon which is currently locked up in underground deposits. In theory, we could grow megatons of oil crops which would scrub CO2 from the atmosphere and help balance the carbon cycle a bit better, but that's by way of an utopian point of view, since there's probably not enough land space available to do so for the current levels of fuel use.

and watch the next point, Hydrogen...

contemplate, if you will, where the Hydrogen for the super-clean fuel-cell cars is coming from, and where it'd have to come from if you wanted enough to be viable as an alternative fuel.

I've no answers, and I'm as guilty as the next bloke of using up fossil resources and polluting the atmosphere with it. But the world we live in at the moment doesn't allow of much choice, really.

umm .... 2(H20) -> 2(H2)+02 -> 2(H2)+02 ->H20

kind of a cycle, isn't it?
