Sealey Tools?

Depends on how much use and abuse you give them! Brother (who is a mechanic)
bought various different ones, with mixed results. Some were fine some broke
and his pri bars bent! Me on the other hand have many sealey things and have
got on fine, but then I don't use them day in day out. Have to say some
pieces are better than others. I think the addage is true that you get what
you pay for. Have some beta and blue point tools and they are
indestructable, well worth the money!

I tend to end up spending money of tools in order of how much it might hurt
if said tool failed, hence I never skimp on ratchets, pri bars and spanners.
The rest of my tools are made up of a range of makes some being sealey.
Sealey premiere tools are good value, they generally do last well. Have a
premiere 3/8 drive wall drive socket set that has been great. Their standard
quality can be a bit poor. Its all relative to what you spend I suppose. All
mine came from Lucas services (LSUK), went in local branch. Its best way of
doing it as you can tell a lot from feel. They usually have all the same
offers on. In fact that would be my advice, find a local dealer in sealey
and go in, atleast that way you will have a bloke to shout at if it breaks.


The halfords proffessional range, I hate to say it, is extremely good.

I'll second that, the sockets and spanners I've had from Halfords are
still in mint condition after 6 years abuse, including being used in
fields etc in the rain and snow and doused in brake fluid.

The ¼ and 3/8 ratchets have died though, but hardly a disaster.

Ditto Britool (don't get them of the vans though, use a motor factors,
much cheaper).

Mind, it took ridiculous amounts of punishment before it gave up.  

Well, Sealey don't actually make anything. They just import. If you want
quality go for Sykes Picavent or similar, if you want cheap buy from the
market.  My info comes from someone who works for Sealey.

Yes funny that some stuff you see badged sealey you can see an identical one
in say machine mart !!!
Just goes to show they don't make the stuff themselves, do not know if it is
the same quality though..

not just machine mart either just looking at various air impact wrenches
I've seen the same kit as Amtech ( bought one) Aldi ,Valley tools and a few
others I reckon theres a factory out in the far east with a complete set of
self adhesive badges for all the major resellers excepting the garage
professionals like Snap on et al
