Simple jobs ffs!

Got home from work early today for the first time in month. I need to swap my drivers door mirror & fit the new bonnet catch as my old one was stuffed.

Took off the door mirror to find the one got off eBay has a different connector. I think OK, I'll just use it as a manual mirror. Oh no, you can't as the connector needs to be located to enable the tweeter speaker to fit back in place. So I refit old mangled mirror & tape a new glass on. Looks a dog, but bollocks as it's freezing.

Next job, passenger side bonnet catch has broken. I get the new one out of the box & notice it's plastic, not metal but carry on. I get the old on off & fit the cable to the new one. Try to fasten the original bolts into it to no avail. The hole is too small ffs. Take the new one off & have a good look at the old one.It only needed greasing & freeing up & it's fine, so refit original & bonnets now fine!!

I'm feckin' freezing & basically got f*ck all done!!!

So, mirror & catch will be on eBay tonight.

Paul - xxx uttered summat worrerz funny about:

About 5 years ago I wrote on this group about my joy changing a brake disc on a RRC. I managed to snap a caliper bolt... needless to say lot's of special engineering drill bit's later... new drill... tap and die set...trip to engineers very gingerly on one bolt and finally got it sorted (turned out to be some wierd thread type bolt!)

Anyway after that trauma and knowing the other Disc was fine I left the opposite side... not ideal but it was fine and didn't pull either way so no issues.

Last week I put the other disc from the pair on the Disco... Rich at Beamends supplied another single disc for the tuther side.

So I guess I'm trying to say in a rather long way having just finished a night shift and swilling the whiskey and coke down (Look it's my equivalent to Friday night here, except normal peeps don't go to bed at 7pm on Friday after a 5pm finish) ... keep the parts... you'll need 'em as soon as you sell em ;-)
