SRS light - 300tdi Range Rover

It's a 1994, 300tdi Auto, with twin air bags, MA648***

The SRS light flashes for a few minutes, then settles to steady on. The battery had gone a bit flat after a few weeks non-use, I'd started it with a magic yellow box, then charged the battery overnight with a cheap old charger, showing no more than a couple of amps or so.

I gather from googling that it needs it will need connecting to "test book" to reset it, but I don't really understand the relationship between "testbook", "T4", and another clever box whose name I've forgotten. I'm not even very clear whether we're talking about dedicated hardware or software that is run on a laptop

Would someone please explain, as to a simple soul, what options are open to me to sort this out? I'd prefer to avoid a) going to a dealer with posh showrooms; b) taking the bulb out; or c) putting a bit of black tape over the bulb. I'm quite happy to download software and to buy mysterious cables or adapters if necessary - if I knew what I needed.

I'm between Derby and Nottingham, if anyone can recommend a non-Hunters solution.

Rotary coupler, or duff connection on the seatbelt pretensioners.

Yep, just as Nige said - most common problem is the plug under the seats for the pretensioners. Unplug them, spray with some contact cleaner (not WD40/Inox or greasy shit). Plug each one in and out a few times.

Thanks to Nige and Craig for the suggestions, but this one doesn't have pre-tensioners.

Is there any "home" method of re-setting the light, in case the fault is just related to the battery going flat?
