Structural or not? The significance of holes in the floor of a RR

Can anyone tell me if having a slightly holey floor near the drivers door of Skippy is a definite MOT failure? I'm guessing (and have been told bu a fairly dubious person who wants to charge me £90 to plate it) that it is, and I feel that as it is holding the seat in it is probably a good idea to get it fixed anyway.... Only not having a welder any longer, and not knowing anyone in Coventry who

*does* have one, I fear I am going to have to spend money I don;t have to get it fixed :(

What's Skippy?

If it's any help I had a Range Rover with a hole in the driver's floor and it failed the MoT on that.

If the hole is within 30 cm of a seatbelt anchorage or seat mounting point or other safety relative mounting point it will fail. stevie..

Ta. Skippy is a 1988 RangeRover 4 door, as seen on

I guess I'd better find a friendly face behind a welding mask then :)

That depends on how long you've had it. I've had the Discovery for nearly 8 years and it is referred to as either as "Mum's car", "Green car" but more often than not as "The Skip".

So did the Discovery. If its any help I have the number of a mobile welder in Leicester who did the Discovery. Let me know if you want it.

basically you dont want holes within 300mm of any body or suspension mount positions , if they are farther away than this then not to worry too much so long as they arent on outside of vehicle and liable to get caught on by public .

holes in sills do need repairing .
