90k service

Soon will be at 90k service. Brakes, tranny oil, and radiator have been serviced in the last 15K. I will have the timing belt, water pump and spark plugs replaced at 90k. What other critical items should be done at this service? Any thoughts Ray O?

What kind of vehicle?

If the differential and/or transfer case fluid have not been changed, I would get it changed.

Check the condition of the engine air filter and the PVC valve if the engine is equipped with one. When you shake the PCV valve, you should hear it rattle.

At 90 K miles, I would also flush the brake fluid and whatever else the owner's manual says to do.

You can register your car at the Lexus.com web site and get the factory recommended maintenance intervals.

At the 90,000 miles interval, here is what is listed for my car:

If your car has a cabin air filter, it needs replacement.

Replace engine oil and filter Replace the timing belt. Replace the brake fluid Re-torque drive shaft flange bolts Replace engine air filter Rotate tires Replace engine coolant

Inspect the following: Ball joints & dust covers fuel lines and connections, fuel tank band and fuel tank vapor vent system hoses Brake lines and hoses Brake linings/drums, and brake pads and rotors Fuel tank cap gasket Differential oil Rack and pinion assembly Drive belts Steering linkage and boots Drive shaft boots Transmission fluid Exhaust pipes and mountings

If the vehicle is operated primarily on unpaved or dusty roads, Inspect nuts and bolts on chassis and body Replace differential oil
