Change out factory stereo in ES300

Hello

I own a 98 ES300 and am looking to change out the factory (standard) stereo.

2 issues I have:

1) I hate having to dig the 6-CD cartridge out of the glove box every time. I usually just leave discs in there forever since it's such a pain. Try putting a CD in at, say, a traffic light some time...

2) I really want an auxiliary in jack so I can plug a Rio digital music player in there. The Rio holds 20 GB in a lossless format (FLAC) and holds all the music I could need.

I'm finding that not a lot of commercial car stereos have aux in - yet. I'm betting that will change eventually as iPods and their clones continue to proliferate - and dare I say? - the DM players will become dockable in the car stereo. But not this week.

Going to somewhere like crutchfield.com or circuitcity.com, they have you enter your vehicle specs, then tell you what is available. Circuit City quickly says that none of the many car stereos they sell will fit a 98 ES300. Crutchfiled is a little more optimistic; says that "you will need to fabricate an installation kit".

Has anyone found a car stereo kit with aux input that can fit in an ES300 - and - is it really that difficult to find *any* commercial stereo that will fit in an ES?

thanks wayne

Hey...

Are there any specialty shops in your area. Take a drive down to one and I promise they can help you.

Our shop just installed a radio into a 98 ES with zero problems.
