ES 350

Has the ES 350 (which was supposed to be officially released as of Friday) actually made it to any Lexus dealers yet? It hasn't shown up at the local dealer (J.M. Lexus in Margate, FL) yet, but when I went there to see if I could see one of them, their salesmen made a strong push to get me to buy an outgoing ES 330, which they're discounting.

I was told that Lexus is not shipping the the dealers until they have at least 1 to send to each dealership. This delayed the delivery by at least a week.

look at the PRICE ESTIMATES i got for the ES.. from a dealer in TX.

what the !!#!#%%.. I was under some crappy impression that the base MSRP would be 33-34K.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ES 350 has not arrived as of yet but it will be soon. The MSRP of the base car is $37024 and has DC FJ FS HH HN PM WU as options. The MSRP of the navigation car is $40749 and has FJ FS HL HN NV PT WU as options. For the first time ever on the ES350 there will be a Untra Luxury version for $43989 the options on this car are $43989.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

but look at the website

formatting link
it shows only 33865

] 2007 (MSRP) includes delivery, processing and handling fee. Excludes taxes, title, license and optional equipment. Dealer price may vary. is this dealer in TEXAS.. shortchanging me ?

can other folks ask around their local dealers and tell me what quotes u get for base models. arent we comparing apples with apples here ?

The salesman from JM Lexus called me this morning to say that they did finally get a shipment of them now.

If they haven't fixed the transmission problem, I would consider some other car without that problem. Also, considering the way the price of gasoline is shooting up, this might be a good time to wait and see what comes of that. We may all need cars that are more gas efficient in the very near future. I'd hate to shell out $40,000 for a current car and find out they are coming out with cars that will give you 40 to 55 miles to the gallon. $15.00 just about filled up my tank a few years ago. Today, it only got me

5 gals. What's next - - $5 a gal. gas?

Be mindful of how you're going to test that. The average test drive won't catch this bug out.

My friend is the fixed cost manager at a VERY sucessfull dealership (I'll leave it at that). He goes to Japan several times a year. Over the last cuople of years when I asked him about the tranny problem he told me, " there will be no fix to this problem, although Toyota does not consider it a problem." On the es350 he has finally told me, "it's fixed, it's a different transmission." I'm ready to buy now.
